September is such a wonderful time in the Boone and Blowing Rock areas. You still have warm days they are combined with cool crisp evenings. The weather varies from year to year but is usually pretty great across the board.
If you're waiting for the leaves to turn you'd better stick to October but with the leaves come "leafers" and tons of traffic. October is probably our busiest season up here and September is a little bit of an off month with kids being back in school.
If you're not wanting to fight crowds then September might be the month for you! Just make sure to let your guests know to bring the appropriate attire especially if you are having an outdoor event.
If you are planning on having a wedding on a busy weekend whether leaf season or otherwise make sure you plan way ahead so that the vendors that you want to use aren't already booked. You can always pick a day other than Saturday if you're having trouble booking the people and venues that you want. Don't be afraid to ask for discounted prices for "off days" as well.
